████ College Torso (Redacted institutional piece)

This anatomical torso was discovered in a storage closet within the college theatre building. The institution itself has a history of more than 200 years, while the Theatre Department was established in the 1930s or 1940s.

It is likely that the torso was originally borrowed from the Biology Department or cadaver laboratory for use as a stage prop in a theatrical production. At some point it was not returned and instead remained within theatre storage.

Based on institutional memory and the tenure of faculty members, the torso likely entered the theatre’s possession between approximately 1965 and 1990, during the stewardship of a now-retired professor. Over time it became part of a miscellaneous collection of stored stage materials and objects.

During later renovations to the theatre building, the college’s current president directed that a number of stored items be removed and disposed of. The torso was among the objects slated for disposal and was subsequently recovered from this collection.

Skeletal Salvation intercepted this and fully conserved the torso to its original state so that future generations can learn from it. During the conservation, it was found that the torso demonstrates skeletal deformation associated with prolonged use of tightly laced corsets.
