Amputated Thumb
Date
August 2025
A client experienced a workplace accident involving industrial equipment in which a crane mechanism severely crushed and amputated his thumb. Despite medical intervention, the damage was too extensive for surgical reattachment.
The client retained the amputated thumb and later contacted Skeletal Salvation to explore preservation options. The client requested that both the bone and the skin be preserved separately.
The bone was carefully cleaned, and the skin was preserved to prevent deterioration while maintaining its structure.
Both preserved elements were returned to the client. As with all personal preservation projects, the client’s identity remains fully confidential, and all work was performed with careful attention to respect, safety, and long-term preservation.
